Hi! I’m Eugenia and I have been writing stories, poems and plays from the moment I learned how to spell and string a sentence together. A love of reading and of watching wacky TV shows, Films and Plays throughout the 1960’s 70’s and 80’s led me to writing stories and performing puppet shows and plays for my siblings and friends in my suburban St Albans backyard as well as for audiences at my Primary and Secondary schools.
I was a Secondary School teacher of English, History and Drama for forty years, and I relished finding entertaining ways to engage my students, often by dramatising historical events and integrating humour into lessons. I gained inspiration while helping my students to develop poetry and story ideas, enabling me to indulge in my own writing.
As a Drama teacher, I wrote over seven School productions as well as many skits and plays for classroom use. Retiring in 2022, I entered my Play “Guilty” into the 21st Year National Playwright competition winning both the 2024 Judges Award and People’s Award.
My publishing debut is a collection of short stories entitled “Gaia Unchained” (Busybird Publishing). The stories have been curated over a period of twenty years with my inspiration coming from personal experiences as well as my fertile imagination.
