Eugenia Kozlevcar has been writing stories, poems and plays from the moment she learned how to spell and string a sentence together. A love of reading and of watching wacky TV shows, Films and Plays throughout the 1960’s 70’s and 80’s led her to writing stories and performing puppet shows and plays for her siblings and friends in her suburban St Albans backyard as well as for audiences at her Primary and Secondary schools.
Having been a Secondary School teacher of English, History and Drama for forty years, Eugenia relished finding entertaining ways to engage her students by dramatising historical events and integrating humour into lessons. She gained inspiration while helping her students to develop poetry and story ideas, enabling her to indulge in her own writing.
As a Drama teacher, Eugenia wrote over fourteen School productions as well as many skits and plays for classroom use. Retiring in 2022, she entered her Play “Guilty” based on the short story in this volume, into the 21 st Year National Playwright competition winning both the 2024 Judges Award and People’s Award.
Eugenia’s intention has always been to entertain and provide an escape from the mundane aspects of life. This collection of short stories has been curated over a period of twenty years with her inspiration coming from personal experiences as well as her fertile imagination.
